Great Light Lutheran Church is located in Seoul, South Korea. We are a growing group that meets on Sunday afternoon for worship and Thursday evenings for bible study.

Meet the Pastor

David Choi

David Choi grew up in Mainland China, got his Master of Telecommunications and worked in the IT Marketing Industry for 2 years. After that, he felt God’s calling to be a pastor and went to the United States for Lutheran seminary training. Pastor David graduated from Bethany Theological Seminary in Minnesota and obtained Master of Divinity Degree.

Pastor Choi completed his pastoral internship in San Diego, California and theological training in Minnesota in 2021. The Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) gave him a divine call as an Eastern Asian Missionary and Pastor for Great Light Lutheran Church in Seoul, South Korea.

He married his wife, Ashley, in 2023, who is a teacher and missionary. They started Great Light Lutheran Church together with other faithful Lutheran members.

In his free time he enjoys hiking, playing soccer and spending time with family and friends.
